Scott Arfield’s incredible stoppage-time brace snatched Rangers a dramatic Scottish Premiership victory over Aberdeen and prevented their fragile title hopes from being further shattered.
Mind-blowing goals from Duk and Leighton Clarkson had propelled Aberdeen into the lead as the game slipped into seven extra minutes, with Fashion Sakala having previously put Rangers ahead.
But Arfield followed when goalkeeper Kelle Roos knocked down Ryan Kent’s shot, then capitalized on a defensive error to put together a frantic winner.
That puts Rangers six points behind Celtic – who face Livingston on Wednesday – when it looked likely they would be at least eight points behind after playing one more game.
Aberdeen remain third, but were utterly devastated, with manager Jim Goodwin crouching on the ground full-time in disbelief at how his side had managed to throw away what looked like a first win in 13 attempts against Rangers.
