Assassin’s Creed Valhallamaybe the last post-launch expansion released a week earlier? The original word from Ubisoft was that it would arrive on December 6, which is next Tuesday, but it appeared yesterday.
Whether it was a mistake or things got approved earlier than expected, Ubisoft played it up pretty funny on social media, saying “an unexpected glitch in the Animus” sent Title Update 1.6.2 to everyone ahead of schedule. The real news, however, is the special guest star in a series of unannounced additional missions, called “Shared History”.

Meet Roshana character about whom we will learn more in Assassin’s Creed Miragethe next game in the 15-year-old franchise, set to launch in 2023. Miragethe main character, basimalready appears in Valhalla. (It has a confusing and somewhat spoiler-y story, but suffice it to say that Basim serves as a mentor to player-character Eivor.)
It turns out Roshan is a master assassin and mentor to Basim. In Valhalla, she is in Ravensthorpe, waiting to give Eivor a mission; their dialogue foreshadows certain details of the story of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Shared History, along with the previously announced “The Final Chapter”, are Eivor’s latest adventures in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was confirmed by Ubisoft in early September and officially showcased during the Ubisoft Forward live stream event on September 10. It is expected to launch in 2023, although no more specific date or window has been announced.
Mirage originally started as an expansion idea for Valhalla, and is launched by Ubisoft Bordeaux to mark the 15th anniversary of the series. It was billed as a return to the series’ roots in the Middle East over 1000 years ago. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be set in Baghdad during the Abbasid Caliphate of the late ninth century.
