At Google I/O 2023, the company announced major updates to its core search product.
Now, with some queries, the results will display a chatbot-like response at the top of the page, with traditional search results below. It will also include recommendations and prioritize results from user-generated content like blogs. Queries will have additional context for what you are looking for and relevant product suggestions.
Below the search results, the search will include a conversational mode for follow-up questions right on the search page. This is designed for searches that don’t always have a clear answer, so users can chat with the AI to narrow down what they’re looking for.
