Chris Eubank Jr emerged with a rainbow armband and a Manchester United jersey during the weigh-in ahead of his fight with Liam Smith on Saturday in Manchester.
Eubank kept the pro-LGBTQ armband in a lengthy showdown on Friday.
“We want to be inclusive in this sport. Liam has disrespected, hurt and alienated a whole group of people,” Eubank said.
“It’s unacceptable. We don’t want that in boxing.
“When you’re about to fight a man, the tensions are high, I get it.
“But we have to be responsible, we have children who look up to us and we have to lead by example.”
Both fighters weighed in at 11lbs and 5lbs for the all-British middleweight contest.
Sky Sports and promotion company Boxxer both apologized for the comments at Thursday’s press conference.
Eubank eventually responded to Smith’s taunts with some of his own about his opponent’s city of birth, Liverpool, and his marriage.
Both fighters were asked about their behavior and reminded of their responsibility to conduct themselves professionally.
The British Boxing Board of Control said on Friday it was aware of the comments made and was “looking directly into the conduct of both boxers”.
After the ugly scenes, Eubank admitted things “escalated quickly” and he admitted tensions were high.
“Boxing is personal, fighting another man is one of the most personal things you can do. So I get it,” he said.
