The appointment of Arsenal striker Mead comes a year in which she was named player of the tournament at Euro 2022, shortlisted for the Ballon d’Or and won BBC Sport Personality of the Year.
Lionesses coach Wiegman, who led the team to their first major tournament trophy at Euro 2022, is joined on the list of female coaches by English-born Canadian coach Beverly Priestman, as well as Hayes from Chelsea.

Alessia Russo’s backheel in England’s Euro 2022 semi-final win over Sweden is among the contenders for the Fifa Puskas award for best goal of the year.
She will face competition from Kylian Mbappe’s superb volley for France, which extended the World Cup final.
Voting closes February 3, and the three finalists in each category will be announced later in the month.
