Ireland’s Brendan Lawlor won the first G4D Open title after a nervous last-lap showdown with England’s Kipp Popert at Woburn’s Duchess Course.
Lawlor, second in the world ranking of disabled golfers, hit a three-over 75 to finish three over.
Top-ranked Popert, who started the third round a back shot, led by one after nine holes, but bugged three of his last six for 76 for a five-over total.
Juan Postigo Arce of Spain was third on eight over after a 74.
A field of 80 male and female amateur and professional golfers competed in the 54-hole event, in standing, intellectual, sight and sitting categories.
Lawlor, 26, suffers from a rare condition called Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, characterized by a shorter waist and shorter limbs.
Popert, who was born with a form of cerebral palsy called spastic diplegia, has won the G4D Tour five times in 2022-23.
