A goalkeeper was attacked by a fan with a corner flag during a derby between Turkish second division sides Goztepe and Altay in Izmir.
Sunday’s game was abandoned midway through the first half, with ambulances needed on the pitch after fans launched fireworks and flares.
After the match was stopped, a fan ran onto the pitch and attacked Altay Ozan goalkeeper Evrim Ozenc with a corner flag.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) said: “We condemn the incidents.”
In a statement, the TFF also condemned the “despicable attack” on Ozenc.
After ambulances arrived on the pitch to treat fans injured by fireworks, videos on social media showed a fan running onto the pitch and attacking Ozenc from behind, before being restrained by the players and security personnel.
“While wishing a speedy recovery to the injured football fans, we also wish a speedy recovery to Altay Ozan goalkeeper Evrim Ozenc, who suffered abuse from the striker who entered the pitch,” adds the press release.
