Google is equipping Bard with some significant updates with help from Adobe.
As expected, the tech company announced key AI features related to its AI chatbot. This included new coding tools, multimodal capabilities, and integration with other Google tools like Docs and Sheets.
The AI chatbot now supports multimodal search, which means it is able to generate images from a text prompt. Image generation is supported by Adobe Firefly(opens in a new tab) who will share images directly in the Bard chat. Bard is now integrated with Google tools like Docs and Sheets, which means it can generate content and tables and automatically add them to those apps. For coders, Bard also added 20 new programming languages and quotes to understand code generation.
Bard was launched in February as Google’s answer to OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing which is powered by GPT-4. But due to inaccuracies and less refined responses, it was considered an inferior model to its rivals. Last week, Microsoft announced multimodal capabilities for Bing and its Edge browser. Now Google is taking it to the next level to bring similar functionality to its own AI chatbot.
Google introduced Bard as a tool for programmers, and today it’s doubled that down with new coding, math, and logic capabilities.
Starting today, the waitlist for Bard is removed so users can test it out for themselves.
