
England’s Sam Curran and Nat Sciver have been shortlisted for the annual International Cricket Council (ICC) awards.
Curran, 24, is nominated for T20I Men’s Cricketer of the Year and Sciver is shortlisted for ODI Women’s Cricketer of the Year.
Curran was Player of the Tournament for England’s memorable T20 World Cup triumph.
The versatile has taken 25 wickets in 19 matches in 2022.
Sciver, 30, was top scorer in England’s 3-0 win over West Indies in December.
She hit 833 carries and took 11 wickets in 17 games in 2022.
His other nominees are Shabnim Ismail from South Africa, Amelia Kerr from New Zealand and Alyssa Healy from Australia.
Curran takes on India’s Suryakumar Yadav, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan for the prize.
Raza is also named among the male ODI nominees alongside Pakistan’s Babar Azam, Australia’s Adam Zampa and West Indies Shai Hope.
The nominees for the T20I female award have also been announced.
Indian Smriti Mandhana, Pakistani Nida Dar, New Zealander Sophie Devine and Australian Tahlia McGrath are all nominated.
On Wednesday, England’s all-rounder Alice Capsey was nominated for the Emerging Cricketer of the Year award.
The shortlists for the overall Cricket Men’s and Women’s of the Year will be announced on Friday.
The winners will be announced in January.
