Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been “suspended from all team activities” after appearing to be holding a gun again in a social media video.
Morant, 23, appears to briefly hold a gun in a car with a friend during an Instagram Live broadcast on Saturday.
The All-Star guard was suspended for eight games without pay by the NBA in March after video showed him holding a gun at a Colorado nightclub.
The NBA said it is reviewing this second incident.
“We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are gathering more information,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass said.
The Grizzlies said Morant’s suspension was “pending league review.”
After the March incident, Morant apologized and said he took “full responsibility” for his actions.
He said he would “work on learning better ways to manage stress and my general well-being” and upon reflection he realized “what I have to lose”.
The Glendale Police Department investigated the nightclub incident, but did not find enough evidence to charge person for a crime.
At the time, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Morant’s conduct was “irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous,” but added that Morant had “clearly indicated” that he had “learned from this.” incident “.
The Grizzlies were defeated by Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the play-offs last month.
