Manchester United have loaned Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland for the remainder of the season.
United manager Erik ten Hag needs a number two for David de Gea after Newcastle United shortened Martin Dubravka’s loan spell.
Butland, who has nine England caps, has been with crystal palace since 2020 but has yet to play this season.
“They’re an amazing club and one I’m now proud to represent,” said Butland, 29.
Tom Heaton, who has three England caps and joined Aston Villa in 2021, is also part of the goalkeeping setup at Old Trafford.
Butland added: “I played against David de Gea and represented England alongside Tom Heaton; they are top notch keepers, and I relish the opportunity to compete alongside them and support them as teammates.
“There’s a lot this group can achieve this season and I’m delighted to play my part in helping everyone achieve those ambitions.”
United are fourth in the Premier League with Palace 12th.
Butland, who has played 87 Premier League games, was part of Gareth Southgate’s squad at the 2018 World Cup.
However, he hasn’t been a Premier League regular since Stoke City’s relegation in 2018 and has made just 10 league appearances for Palace.
United Football manager John Murtough added: “Jack is an excellent goalkeeper with great experience throughout his career. His mentality and personality will be a real asset to our superb group of goalkeepers and any the team.”
