Katie Taylor’s world title fight with Amanda Serrano is highly unlikely to happen at Croke Park this spring, according to BBC Sport NI.
Matchroom, which promotes Taylor, has been in talks with the GAA to secure a fight with Serrano at Croke Park.
But other Dublin venues such as 3Arena or Aviva Stadium are now being considered for the fight.
The cost of hiring and staging Serrano’s fight at Croke Park is believed to have been the main stumbling block in the negotiations.
Taylor, 36, has never fought professionally in Ireland and beat Puerto Rico’s Serrano in the first women’s fight to headline Madison Square Garden last year.
The 2012 Olympic gold medalist went on to retain her title in beat Karen Elizabeth Carabajal in London in October.
The scheduled date for the Serrano fight would also have coincided with a busy time in the Gaelic Games calendar.
Seven-division world champion Serrano will face WBA featherweight champion Erika Cruz in a bid to claim her first undisputed title on Feb. 4 in New York City.
