The world’s best female golfers will compete for a record total prize money of $101.4m (£85m) next season.

A global calendar consisting of 33 events in 12 countries has been announced by the LPGA Tour.

The combined purses are more than double what was paid on tour just a decade ago.

“Thanks to our amazing athletes, partners, volunteers and fans, 2023 will be a banner year,” said LPGA Tour Commissioner Mollie Marcoux.

“Our athletes are playing for more prize money in total than at any time in history, and we have over 500 hours of television broadcast time.”

The Carlton Woods Club in Texas will debut as host of the Chevron Championship, the first major women’s tournament of the season, in April.

July’s US Women’s Open will take place at Pebble Beach for the first time, while the AIG Women’s Open will take place at Walton Heath, venue of the 1981 Ryder Cup, from August 10-13.

The total pot is up $8 million from 2022, with at least $1.5 million offered at each tournament.
