While Disney Speed Storm is free, Gameloft sells three Founder’s Packs, Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate, which unlock additional racers and other in-game items. The difference between the three packs is the playable characters they unlock. The standard version will give you Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck; the deluxe version will get you Mickey and Donald, plus Mulan; and the ultimate version will unlock those three, plus Hercules and Captain Jack Sparrow. Pre-ordering will also get you a special Donald Duck “early bird racing suit” which gives him a sleek black and chrome racing outfit and a matching car.
The trailer released alongside the Early Access release date touted an almost comedic seriousness to the cartoon runner – the trailer makes it feel like an intense racing game when we simply play as as Disney characters. That being said, a lot of the character models for the game look great, and I’m a bit obsessed with Mulan in a racing outfit.
