The leader, one of marvel snapthe most powerful cards of, arrives for a nerf, the digital card game boss said wednesday on Twitter. For some players, however, the change is far from enough.
Leader (a sworn enemy of the Hulk dating back nearly 60 years now) will get a power cut, to 3 of 4. In wonder Breakthe total power of the cards played in a location determines control of that space (and control of two of the three locations at the end of the game determines the winner).
But his power isn’t what really bothers people. Copies of unique leader abilities each card that the opponent has played, for this turn, at his side. Since Leader’s cost is 6, it usually cannot be used until the end of the game, which means that players who have Leader inevitably deploy it against other late, high-cost, high-power cards. When used against multiple cards, Leader can dramatically alter the outcome of the game. Some would say unfairly. His presence is enough to force the others just step back.
“The leader effect is proving very frustrating to many players and polarizing in its ability to lock decks and discourage the play of other 6-cost cards,” said Ben Brode, Development Director of marvel snap maker Second Dinner, said on Twitter.
This doesn’t address Leader’s overwhelming special ability, but then Brode says Second Dinner is “exploring other changes to the map in the future.” Brode immediately clarified that this means the changes are definitely on the way for Chief.
Players seem to be split on Leader’s effect as currently played, though most feel it has too much potential to completely distort or seal a game.
It doesn’t matter if Leader has a power of 3, 4, 1 or 13; the pattern remains the same: if you haven’t gained 2 slots by T5, it’s mostly okay to retreat, just because the leader exists.

That said…
For me, the 6 cost cards part is confusing. Leader does not prevent playing only 6-cost cards. It prevents any game that relies on absolute numbers, as these numbers will be copied. As a card, it prevents any 6-turn play that does not rely on high synergy or cannot overwhelm its space

This card is really good as it is. I’ve been screwed by its effect while playing it, almost as often as I’ve won with it. It is not an automatic victory. You must always be smart and your opponent must play the right cards

Another player suggested that Leader’s copy ability only applies to cards in its locationinstead of all the cards played by the opponent.
Changes will be made in marvel snapthe next patch; however, this cadence has been delayed. The leader nerf appeared when the patch notes did it through marvel snapfrom the Korean version and the community, prompting Brode’s response.
