Queen’s Park have been kicked out of the Scottish Cup after fielding an ineligible player against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who will now face Livingston in the Round of 16.
Striker Euan Henderson has signed on loan from Heart of Midlothian after the game was initially postponed on January 21.
Play him in Tuesday’s rearranged encounter, which Queen’s Park won 2-0, contrary to competition rules.
Inverness will face Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena on February 11.
Queen’s Park President David Hunter said“An error has been made regarding the eligibility of a player who featured in Tuesday night’s game with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and we have accepted the SFA’s decision.
“It’s a regrettable mistake. A mistake that we will learn from. Our team put in a tremendous display on Tuesday to win the draw and obviously today’s result is a hugely disappointing result. As upsetting as that is this matter, it’s vital that we put this behind quickly, move on and focus on our league campaign.”
