The Entertainment Software Ratings Board has issued a judgment on star fieldand like other games from Bethesda Game Studios (Fallout 4, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim) the space role-playing game will be an M-rated game for Mature. Expect violence, foul language, sex and drug use in star field when the game launches later this summer.
When it comes to violence, players will use “futuristic guns, lasers, axes, and explosives to kill enemies,” according to ESRB’s description of game content. “The fighting is fast, with frequent gunfire, cries of pain and explosions. Attacks against certain enemies can result in blood splatter effects; several environments depict bloodstains on the ground around corpses.
While the violence seems graphic, the sex in star field seems quite tame. The game’s rating states that players can expect “suggestive elements in dialogue and after sharing a bed with characters”. Best of these suggestive lines? “I’m all for getting a little wild, but next time let’s try without the jetpacks,” as the ESRB noted. My star field character, which I will play as having nothing but coitus equipped with a jetpack, better not say that and break my immersion.
Finally, the notation also reminds us that star field will get you high with that one thing: space fish juice. star fieldHer favorite drug is called Aurora, and as noted by Bethesda in 2021, players will get it when they visit a destination called Neon, a “pleasure town” built on top of a huge fishing facility. This facility deals with a breed of mind-altering fish that creates the natural drug and, according to the ESRB, players can even work on it at some point in the game.
star field is set to release on Windows PC and Xbox Series X on September 6. The game will launch day one on Game Pass. In June, Bethesda and Microsoft promise a deep dive into star field in a livestream titled Starfield Direct.
