Stephen Curry suffered a shoulder injury as the NBA champions Golden State Warriors’ indifferent season continued with a 125-119 loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Curry had a game-high 38 points when he was injured attempting a steal in the third quarter.
Curry will undergo injury analysis on Thursday, coach Steve Kerr said.
“Maybe it’ll get tougher if Steph is out for a little while,” Kerr added after a 15th loss in 29 games.
The Warriors, seeking a fifth title in nine seasons, are 10th in the Eastern Conference.
“My message to the band was that this was about competition, this was about weathering the storm,” Kerr added. “It’s been a tough start to the season. We’re in a tough time.”
The Warriors trailed 93-80 when Curry, who is averaging 30 points this season, left the field.
A pair of three-pointers from Donte DiVincenzo took them 122-119 with just over a minute to go.
But ultimately the Pacers, for whom Tyrese Haliburton scored with 29 points, held on.
Elsewhere, reigning two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic scored 43 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 141-128 win over the Washington Wizards.
Paul George had a triple-double of 17 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists to help the Los Angeles Clippers to a 99-88 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
