Warwickshire skipper Will Rhodes has signed a new contract with the 2021 County Champions.
The 27-year-old Yorkshireman, who will lead the Bears for the fourth consecutive summer in 2023, had one season left on his existing contract.
But he will now be tied to Edgbaston until at least 2024.
“I have made Warwickshire my home. I am immensely proud to lead this club and will always represent the staff at Bear and Rags with great distinction,” he said.
“Since my arrival, I have seen how passionate and understanding our members and supporters are.
“Last year did not meet our expectations, but I am sure, like me, that they will always remember this last day against Somerset.
“We are all working incredibly hard this winter ahead of the new season and I know the whole team is excited to start.
“There’s a buzz around the locker room by the minute and we can’t wait to get back to action in front of our members in Edgbaston.”
Since leaving his native Yorkshire in 2018, the southpaw Rhodes has made 3,645 first-class runs, including eight centuries, in 63 matches, winning 60 wickets with his middle guards.
